Congratulations to our 2013 Canyon Park Echoes Humorous Speech contest winner Kelly Thompson and Table Topics contest winner Erik Granquist !

 

Our club held a competition on August 28th to select our representatives for the Area 54 Humorous Speech and Table Topics Competitions. After some very interesting speeches and table topics, Kelly walked home with the first prize at the Humorous speech contest; while Erik Granquist won first place in the Table Topics contest.  

They will go on to represent our club at the Area 54 contest to be held on Tuesday September 24 at 5 PM:

Kelly weathered stiff competition from Tommie Rubatino (2nd place winner) and Mike Everett (3rd place winner) during the Humorous Speech contest.  Kelly’s speech about her teenage boys had the audience in stitches and secured her the first place.

Erik Granquist had a strong challenge from our club contestants Trey Sherrill (2nd place winner) and Tony Morrison (3rd place winner).  Erik’s very witty and apt depiction of where last used the “scarf” (prop provided) won him the first place. 

Contratulations again Kelly and Erik !   We look forward to supporting you at the Area 54 contest.
