Toastmasters are everywhere! I had taught a 2-hour class last week, putting my Toastmasters training to the test, and after the class spent some time looking over the feedback. At some point during the class I had mentioned Toastmasters, and one of the attendees remarked that they were a Toastmaster as well.
And they let me know I had 18 ahs. 18 ahs over 2 hours.
That’s about one every 6 minutes – not too bad. That’s much better than the dozens of ahs in my first speech.
Just goes to show – in just about any group – chances are there is a Toastmaster. And that, with time and practice, it is possible to (very nearly) tame the Ah Um beast.
